Year in Review 2016

We want to thank all of you who have donated to and/or participated in our events this year. We have had quite a year. We supplied more than 530 children with gifts this holiday season and meals/food supplies for several hundred families in need throughout this past year. It never ceases to amaze me what a small group of dedicated volunteers can do to help families in need.

Special thanks this year go out to:

The Urlaub family and Rohrbach's for their continued generous support
Van Bortel Ford for the vehicles we used to deliver toys
U-Haul of Western NY for the vehicles we used to deliver toys
Rob Murphy and his family
Jim Murphy and his family
The Foster Family
Pancake Breakfast Volunteers
The Fregeaus
Chris and Ted Aroesty for the toys from their annual toy party
Maria Mello-Dupre for taking time away from her family on Christmas Eve to go to her office and assist us in locating families – ensuring delivery to several families
Elizabeth Li and Mary Burr
Monroe Educational Services for allowing us to store and wrap our toys
The Black Friday (Thanksgiving) toy buying crew
The Brew Fest volunteers
The group of social workers and school counselors who worked so hard to get us the family requests for toys/gifts
All of the wrappers (93 of you) that came out to help us wrap nearly 1,500 toys
There is no way for us to do what we do without the help of all of those that volunteer at all of our events. We look forward to next year and hope that we can provide even more support than we did this year. We will need your help to do that. Happy New Year! Chris, Mark, Kim & Tom

2017 Fund Raising Campaign

Holiday Outreach is a not-for-profit organization that was formed fifteen years ago to assist less fortunate families during the holiday season and throughout the year. Over the years, our organization has raised nearly $200,000. Our fund raising efforts have enabled us to supply many families in need from the city of Rochester as well as other parts of Western New York.

In our first year we raised about $400 which was used to supply three Rochester soup kitchens with much needed food supplies during the holiday season. Last year we were able to increase that amount to nearly $15,000 through a bowl-a-thon, pancake breakfast, Brewers’ Festival, other community events, and private donations. This past year we were able to provide over 530 children with gifts, clothing and food as well as supplies for several area food cupboards and soup kitchens here in Rochester. We have also in the past been able to support food cupboards in Avon, Lakeville, Mt. Morris and Dansville.

Over the years we have been able to help people in a number of different ways. We have supplied blankets to the homeless; provided food and supplies to food cupboards/soup kitchens; supplied food and gifts for children of impoverished families; and provided assistance during emergency situations.

Our goal this year is to be able to provide more children with toys and gifts and to give greater assistance to those food cupboard/soup kitchens than we have been able to in the past. In order to do this we will need to surpass last year’s campaign total. We ask for your assistance in this tremendous challenge.
