WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
During the holiday season funds raised during various events held throughout the year are used to provide food to area food pantries and soup kitchens and provide gifts for children in the Rochester, NY area. The board members and other volunteers shop for food, toys and clothes to be distributed during the holiday season. Volunteers also assist in the wrapping and distribution of these gifts. THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS
Each year we provide Thanksgiving food baskets for families in need at the First Genesis Baptist Church.
THANKSGIVING AND BLACK FRIDAY TOY BUYING
Each year teams of volunteers go out and purchase toys and gifts at deep discount. Buying toys and gifts on these two days is how we can provide three toys
for each child in need.
BIG BUYING DAY
BIG BUYING Week
On "Big Buying Day" we purchase all of the rest of the toys and gifts that we need that were not purchased on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Our "Big Buying Day" has now turned into "Big Buying Week" - we've adapted to the continued crowds at stores during the holidays, so we now gather several nights a week to
buy the remaining items we need.
TOY AND GIFT DELIVERY
We deliver to all of the families that are referred to us.
We do these deliveries on the 23rd and 24th of December. Each year Van Bortel Ford and U-Haul of Western NY donate vehicles for our delivery - without these donated vehicles there is no way we could deliver to all of our families.
